Effects of Trauma on Desire, Arousal and Attachment

Speaker: Nicki Line

This 60-minute webinar explores how survivors of trauma can reconnect with sexuality as a pathway to healing, empowerment, and embodied self-expression. Through a trauma-informed and sex-positive lens, participants will learn how to rebuild safety in intimacy, reestablish trust and consent, and rediscover pleasure as an act of reclamation. The session will also address reframing sexual shame and internalized stigma, helping individuals and professionals alike understand how trauma impacts desire, body image, and self-worth.

Attendees will leave with practical tools and therapeutic frameworks for guiding towards authentic, confident, and compassionate sexual healing. Wendi “Nicki” Line is a licensed mental health counselor with extensive training in clinical sexology and addiction combined with experience counseling in the inpatient and private practice settings.

She is Kink Aware, Poly Friendly, and works with the LGBTQ+ communities. Wendi is the Vice President of the Sanctuary Center and an instructor at the International Academy of Collaborative Counseling and Coaching Education (IACCCE), in Tampa, Florida.
