Pineapple Support Suicide Prevention Training Webinar is a sex-positive, radically inclusive and professionally facilitated webinar that will take anyone who’s actively involved in the adult film and sex-work industries on a deep dive into the following topics.
This webinar will be a ‘user-friendly’, sex-informed approach to suicide prevention and crisis support that’s meant to be specifically ‘performed’ BY adult film industry people FOR adult film industry people who may be struggling with suicide or other mental health related issues.
Pineapple Support Suicide Prevention Training Webinar will go live on September 10th, 2020 in celebration of World Suicide Prevention Day and more importantly, in honor of each person in this industry whose lost their life or someone they know due to suicide and mental health-related issues. In this webinar, we will:
•Explore how suicide and other mental health crisis’ have uniquely affected the adult film industry, why, and what we can realistically do to fight for the lives and the ongoing mental health of the community.
•Look into some essential and comprehensive information and tools about suicide prevention that were specifically curated for you to use personally AND/OR to employ if ever a friend, coworker, or colleague may be in need.
•Provide you the kind of psychoeducation that you can take home with you and keep in your back pocket to utilize for the rest of your life.
•Relay a curated list of accessible, safe and sex-friendly mental health and suicide resources for both those who are struggling and for those interested in continuing to advocate for sex-informed mental health and suicide related resources.
•Have a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate line of open communication throughout because no ‘expert’ (at anything), including myself, is more of an expert on YOUR life than YOU.
The more we have real discussions and conversations about these topics, the more we allow others to feel safe to do so. The more we actively talk about these ‘taboo’, vulnerable and uncomfortable topics, the more actively we facilitate our own mental wellbeing. The more YOU participate in suicide and mental health related events, discussions, conversations, etc., the more you learn how to handle the inevitable darker moments in all of our lives, both professionally and personally.
