Dr. Lahann obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy at Arizona State University. She was recruited to work in Marketing Intelligence at IBM in Boulder, Colorado, where she remained for almost a decade.
During that time, she returned to school for a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She graduated with honors from both and remained active in a dual-career role. Her early experiences include working as a woman’s counselor at the Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence, and serving as a Victims Advocate with the Boulder County Police Department.
In 2005, Dr. Lahann moved to Arizona where she provided psychological services in a K-12 educational setting to at-risk youth. Expanding her work from intervention to a prevention model, Dr. Lahann served as a Senior Director at notMYkid, where she oversaw the development of behavioral health curriculum designed to inspire positive life choices by educating the community about the consequences of destructive youth behaviors. In 2009, Dr. Lahann’s work took more of a clinical focus, providing assessment and intervention services in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Currently, Dr. Lahann’s work specializes in adult counseling, chronic medical and pain management, and geropsychology. She maintains a private practice in Gilbert, AZ as a Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Director of Spectrum Psychology and Wellness. She has been a staff consultant at Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital, Abrazo Central Campus, Banner Heart Hospital, and HealthSouth East Valley Rehabilitation Hospital.
She has experience working with diverse socio-cultural backgrounds and age groups, as well as a broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders. By integrating complementary methodologies and techniques, Dr. Lahann’s therapeutic approach builds on individuals’ strengths and provides support and practical feedback to help them effectively address personal life challenges.
Dr. Lahann has been an active member of her professional community in various roles. She is President-Elect of the Board of Directors of the Arizona Psychological Association. She is also Past-President of the Board of Directors of the Arizona Psychological Association’s Training Consortium, and has been honored to receive the both the Arizona Psychological Foundation’s Outstanding Post-Doctoral Award and Outstanding Early Career Psychologist Award, as well as the American Psychological Association Early Career Achievement Award.
