For Gay, Bi, Queer Men, unresolved pain and unnamed hunger create severe ruptures in our here and now. Disruptive mood patterns and compulsions are signs of emotional injury that deserve a space to be held and cared for. Without language, we use our bodies and relationships to resolve the unresolved. Therapy is a place for this work and can be where the mind, body, & spirit become a family again. I support folx through a healing and relational framework to reconnect with values, hoping to take committed action towards goals and wishes. My name is Noel Ramirez, and my work is focused on supporting gay, bi, and queer men to find integration.
I have 15 years of clinical experience working in providing clinical care. I have a doctorate in behavioral health and graduate degrees in public health health and social work. I utilize relational psycho-dynamic and 3rd wave behavioral therapy. Content Areas include toxic hook-up culture, sexual compulsion, love/relations, and body image for gay/queer men.
My approach to psychotherapy is gentle and warm, modeling the kindness and clarity that get lost with unresolved pain. I own a group mental health practice focused on Asian-American Mental Health. I am a senior lecturer at Columbia University’s graduate social work school and honored to meet you.
