Jamila M. Dawson, LMFT is a sex & relationship therapist, activist, and speaker. Her goal: break down sexual stigma and help people design mindful, vibrant relationships.
As a kinky, queer, polyamorous woman, she presents on sexual wellness and the politics of power and pleasure to mental health professionals and to the general public. In particular, her work focuses on helping people in the kink/polyamory/swinger communities to explore their sexuality and enhance their relationships, personal/career development for new clinicians, and supporting POC to thrive despite racial battle fatigue.
Her work is grounded in supporting people to manage trauma, build resilience, cultivate pleasure, and experience healing through relationship.
With a passion for teaching, Jamila began her career as a sex educator at the Pleasure Chest in LA, has lectured at USC, Antioch University Los Angeles, Washington Univ, and collaborated with sex educators such as Tristan Taormino as well as with Buzzfeed, Playboy, Harper’s BAZAAR and other media outlets.
