I am a dually Registered Intern for both Mental Health Counseling and Marriage & Family Therapy serving adults of all ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, relationship structures, and abilities; this includes, but isn’t limited to working with Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color, LGBTQIA+ communities, kink/BDSM communities, ethically non- monogamous communities, sex work communities, and seropositive communities. My practice as a therapist includes techniques from various modalities including intersectional feminist theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, systemic therapy, person-centered therapy, and emotion- focused therapy, in conjunction with a social justice lens. I am a Black and Afro-Latina queer cis woman, intersectional feminist, social justice advocate, and a proponent for sex-positivity.
When we meet, you are likely to find a transparent, empathetic, humble, charming, and relatable individual. My uniquely intersecting identities allow me to connect with and help my clients navigate a plethora of identities and life struggles; by creating a safe space, I help clients explore what is distressing them without the need to explain the intricacies of the identities that they inhabit. My office is a judgment- free zone and I invite my clients to unpack whatever they need to in session. I believe that all of my clients are experts on themselves. When we collaborate in therapy, together we will find the best possible strategies that empower clients to improved mental health.
