Lance Ferris, LCSW
Hello. My name is Lance Ferris and I am dedicated to working with, and on behalf, of adults, couples and families to navigate the challenges of life, whether they are personal, professional, with family, or with peers. I work from a collaborative, strengths-based, behavioral neuroscience and real life experience approach; assisting and supporting clients to be the author of their own lives. I have a welcoming, non-judgmental, sex positive approach to helping individuals and couples talk about intimacy issues, confidence in diversity and intersectionality of sexuality, creative sexuality and diverse relational interests.
I am trained and certified in Brainspotting, a powerful advanced brain-body treatment method that focuses on identifying, processing, and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, and residual emotional stress. Brainspotting taps into the body’s innate ability to heal, reducing and eliminating the impact of unresolved trauma, negative beliefs, and emotional distress.
I am passionate about problem solving and assisting clients discover a clear vision of their future and then identify the personal strengths that will enable this vision. My work with individuals, couples and families has helped hundreds of people better understand their needs and learn adaptive ways to, decrease depression and anxiety, regulate emotions, improve relationships, increase shame resilience, increase motivation, cope with transition and roles, heal grief and loss, progressive abstinence, solidify values, engage in mindfulness, improve self-compassion and find meaning on their journey to emotional health and wellness.
