Angelynn Hermes, MSW, LCSW
I help those struggling with intimacy, trauma, relationships, and sex to heal and build the lives and relationships they long for. Whether trauma, childhood abuse, substance use, depression, anxiety, chronic stress, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling something in life is no longer working for you, I am here to journey alongside you as you work through core issues and patterns and as you tap into your innate capacity for wellness and healing.
I will work with you to identify and implement positive changes and manage difficulties and stressors that are getting in your way, while also bringing curiosity and attention to the deep-rooted issues that can prompt transformation. I have over seven years of experience in rape crisis response, domestic violence prevention, harm reduction, therapy for survivors of interpersonal violence, and supporting sex workers and organizing for sex workers rights. My time in anti-violence and feminist organizations shows me the essential value of building an ethical and respectful collaboration that center each person’s history, goals, culture, identities, pacing and self-determination. I draw from training in EMDR, somatics, meditation, DBT, family systems theory, group psychotherapy, with an underlying depth psychology orientation.
Originally from the desert southwest, I make my home in Los Angeles California where I have a private practice, work on a DBT treatment team, and also provide therapy online to residents of California. I organize for sex workers rights with a local labor organization, and spend time in the urban and wild outdoors whenever I can.
