Dr Kerry Manera
Country: Australia
After growing up in Australia and completing her undergraduate degree with a focus on sexuality and addictions, Kerry moved to the UK. She spent the best part of 10 years working in the homelessness sector developing and delivering outreach, residential and training services.
The struggle with helping service users manage their dual mental health and addiction issues inspired her to return to her studies, completing her training as a Counselling Psychologist at City, University of London.
Throughout her placements she further developed her understanding of working with sexuality, addiction, HIV and gender-related conflicts. Her doctoral research focused on gender and sexuality, which was presented at several conferences in the UK. Throughout this time she worked for a sex worker support service in London.
Kerry has been working in private practice and at London’s NHS Gender Identity Clinic for the past 4 years, prior to a relocation to Australia.
She will continue to support the LGBTQIA+ community personally and professionally, and has experience of doing so via online counselling for clients around the world.
