Portia is a licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, licensed to provide counseling in Louisiana, Texas, and Florida and coaching outside of those states. The most important part of counseling is the relationship between the counselor and the client. She spends time getting to know each of her clients so that she can tailor a healing plan specifically for them and ensure the clients are getting the most impact from their sessions together.
She is also level 1 trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is one of the leading techniques for dealing with past trauma. She believes that through play, education, and communication, anyone can work through their past and present to improve their future.
