Nancy Ortiz, LCSW
Nancy is a Bilingual, Queer Xicanx (she/her/hers) Licensed Clinical Social Worker based out of Southern California. She began to practice therapy in early 2013 and has been in the field of Social Work since 2007. Nancy has worked with children, teens, adults, families, and couples throughout California (Bay Area, LA, and OC). She provides cultural-centered emotional wellness therapy services to persons with diverse & intersecting identities, such as: QBIPOC, API, Disabled, Immigrant, Latinx, and LGBTQIA+. She is currently pursuing AASECT sex therapy training and certification and somatic based training.
Her primary specialty is in supporting individuals struggling with depression & anxiety as a result of difficult life events or life transitions. She focuses on trauma processing, developing emotional wellness skills, making new meanings, and enhancing social connections, emotional resiliency, and resources. She approaches trauma recovery from an integrative praxis utilizing cognitive behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, and somatic modalities.
Nancy supports various relational structures (i.e. couples, trios, throuples, poly, CNM|ENM) seeking to strengthen their intimacy, communication, vulnerability, and overall improve their relational bonds. Nancy supports persons seeking to explore their sexuality and gender development through kink and BDSM.
Nancy practices from a decolonial feminist and multicultural lens weaving liberation psychology and indigenous ways of knowledge in her therapy practice. She encourages people to reconnect to their natural healing abilities and restorative cultural practices. She aims to co-create a supportive and healing environment with you. She supports individual & collective healing from trauma towards recovery by integrating each individuals’ spiritual, artistic, and creative practices as a source of continued restoration and healing. Nancy believes that therapy can lead to improved relationships, strengthened mind/body/spirit, and overall life enhancement.
