Erica “Jordan” Williams, MSW Student Intern
Country: USA
State: Florida, Pennsylvania, Washington DC
Jordan Williams is a 2nd-year graduate student through the University of Kentucky’s College of Social Work. She previously received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in Exercise Science, but decided to change career paths when she realized that her minor courses in psychology resonated more with her values. She is currently on the course to obtain her MSW in December, 2023 along with her clinical practice and substance use disorder certificates. Jordan plans to pursue licensing to become an LCSW.
“Ever since enrolling in my MSW program, I have been excited to further my knowledge in a way that will allow me to help others and ease their suffering. I hope to help individuals struggling with life to recognize their own strengths and abilities as well as to help them recognize that they truly are not alone.”
Jordan has a passion for preventative mental health care and hopes to help others see the value and importance of preventative measures. Her education has centered around Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and Strengths-Based Resolutions. Jordan strives to provide a counseling environment that is safe, non-judgemental, empowering, supportive, and respectful. She is hoping to help those who face depression, anxiety, bipolar, and PTSD concerns as well as those suffering from burnout, life stressors or transitions, self-esteem complications, and other barriers that may present themselves. Jordan believes strongly in respect, freedom, justice, equality, and creativity.
