“I have been helping people my entire professional life and worked with people from all walks of life and all ages. After earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology, I went into teaching with a certification in ESE (exceptional student education). Throughout my teaching years, my work went beyond instructing students. It also involved tending to the hearts and personal issues of my students and their families. That’s what inspired me to pursue a career in psychotherapy and get my master’s degree in counseling psychology. On a more personal note, I am a wife and mother. I have lived many of the issues I address in my practice and seen my way through them with the help of therapy, yoga and meditation. I am a REIKI practitioner and my husband and I teach KAP (kundalini awakening process) and TANTRA.”
WELCOME to my practice
My name is Ingrid d’Aquin. I am a psychotherapist and I specialize in working with adults to find HOPE by establishing purpose and meaning in their lives and
to ADAPT by finding solutions and adjusting to new conditions with the help of individualized and confidential counseling.
Life isn’t always easy. Sometimes, even the strongest amongst us need help to work through some of life’s more challenging times.
Everyone has battles to fight and hurdles to overcome at various stages of life. Relationships, grief, trauma (PTSD) and life transitions are all part of life that can leave one at a loss. The resulting depression and anxiety often leaves one feeling isolated which makes it hard to cope and enjoy life.
There is HOPE.
While you might be initially hesitant to seek out help and support for personal matters, consider this: we all seek help from professionals for important matters. Your life is important and you matter. So, when life hands you lemons, you should seek a therapist.
You are NOT ALONE and you don’t have to go it alone.
I work with adults and couples of all persuasions in two office locations (Sunset & Coconut Grove) or via TELETHERAPY.. With therapy, there are many ways to address the issues you’re facing in order to help you right now as well as forge a new path for the future. I make it my mission to help my clients heal themselves and to give them the tools they need to achieve real, long-lasting change from within. Every client is unique. That’s why I use a psychodynamic approach to therapy, along with tools such EMDR and HYPNOSIS, to tailor treatment to every client’s specific needs.
THINK OF ME AS RESOURCE FOR FINDING SOLUTIONS. Ultimately, my job is to work myself out a job by taking care of you.

I believe that regardless of a persons’s sexual orientation, lifestyle and/or occupation, everyone is worthy of professional and NON-judgmental mental health care so long as these practices are between consenting adults. Sex is a natural part of life that is experienced and expressed in many different ways. Regardless of how much or how little sex features in your life it should NOT be cause to avoid therapy for fear of being judged. In my office, my clients find a safe and accepting environment to express themselves while working through the issues they want to process.
As a special note to those potential clients in the adult entertainment industry I offer the following:
- I see adult performance as a valid form of employment.
- I am aware of and willing to learn more about the unique nature of the adult industry from performers.
- I acknowledge that sexuality is diverse and that no one view or social norm can encompass what constitutes healthy sexuality.
- I will respect the choice of each individual to be an adult performer and not try to “save” the individual from sex work.
- I understand that sex workers are as entitled to privacy and their boundaries as any other client.
I am proud to be a trusted business as approved by The Adult Performer Advocacy Committee (APAC).
